Yarn count: The number of yarn counts is a way of expressing the yarn. It is usually expressed by the inch count (S) in the “fixed weight system” (this calculation method is divided into two types: the metric count and the inch count). : Under the condition of the specified moisture regain rate (8.5%), how many counts are the skein of 840 yards per twist of the one-pound spun yarn. The count is related to the length and weight of the yarn. For example, a pound of cotton is made into 30 yarns with a length of 1 meter, that is 30; one kilogram of cotton is made into 40 yarns of 1 meter length, that is 40; 1 kilogram of cotton is made into 60 lengths. For 1 meter of yarn, that is 60. Therefore, the higher the yarn count, the finer the yarn, the better the uniformity, the thinner the woven fabric, and the softer and more comfortable the fabric. Obviously, the higher the number of fabrics, the higher the quality of the raw materials, and the higher the requirements for the mills and weaving mills, so the cost of the fabrics is higher. Generally speaking, 30S or more is called a high count yarn, (20S-30S) is a medium yarn, and 20S or less is a low yarn. (ps: 840 yards is about 768 meters, 1 pound is about 0.45 kilograms)
